Functional Anatomy Testing Tape Specification

KT Method

Confirmation Testing

Patient position: supine with the leg
hanging off the edge of the table. (Not
Shown: Pelvis may also be stabilized
by flexing the opposite knee and hip
in hooklying position.)

Apply one end of the Kinesio Tex
lateral to the edge of the umbilicus.

Peel the Kinesio Tex from the paper
liner and place the tape temporarily
on the skin. Do not activate the glue
by rubbing.

While stabilizing the proximal end of
the tape, pull the proximally to
increase tissue tension.

Apply the other end of the Kinesio
Tex to the proximal 1/3 of the thigh
along the line of the femur.
