  • T asks Sts about the title of the text - why not all inventions are good;

  • T divides Sts into groups of 4; Sts come up with 5 inventions they perceive the best and 5 the worst;

  • T writes down Sts' ideas on the board in a form of a table, ticks if they appear more than once;

  • Sts read the text and put the headings of the paragraphs back in the correct place;

  • Sts compare their lists with the ideas from the text; T asks what differences they notice and what may be the reason for these differences;

  • Sts write a few sentences about one invention from the text or from their lists which has both advantages and drawbacks (as nuclear power and the engine in the last paragraph of the text);

  • T asks some Sts to read their sentences aloud, corrects mistakes.
