MICROTEACHING PLAN
Level: Adult Beginners
Age of students: Adults
Topic: Professions
Pre-reading:
1. The teacher elicits the names of professions, checking how many of them do the students know.
2. The teacher shows flashcards, covering the titles, and tries to elicit the names of professions. If the students do not know or guessed the name, the teacher shows the title, reads it aloud and puts the flashcard on the board.
3. The teacher asks what are the specifics of the professions shown, the students answer using simple vocabulary they already know.
While-reading:
1. The students are given handouts with a dialogue. They read silently, underlining the names of professions.
2. When finished, a few students are cast in the roles from the dialogue and read the text aloud, the teacher corrects their pronunciation.
Post-reading:
1. The students are asked to tell what was their dreamt profession when they were children.
