An Italian Experience in Rome 1___________________ Rome is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The capital of Italy, home of Lazio football team and Vatican's seat, hosts thousands of tourists every week. They come here to enjoy its culture, history and atmosphere. This week we asked Anthony Harris, a young British man, about what life is like for foreigners living in Rome. 2____________________ I came here first for a holiday during a break from university. I loved it so, when I finished university, I came back. I have been here for three years now. It wasn't too difficult to find a job. I teach English in a private school, and I have been working there for three years. Before that I worked in a café, which I didn't like because you have to work long hours. 3____________________ I really enjoy living in Rome. There is so much to do, and you will never experience everything that the city has to offer. I also think it's the most beautiful city I have ever seen and, of course, the weather is great. 4 ____________________ There aren't many things that I don't like about Rome. I suppose the traffic is very chaotic and the city can be very noisy but I haven't had any really bad experiences.
5 ____________________ I'm happy where I am at the moment. I think I'll stay in Rome and maybe I'll buy a house here. I'll certainly continue teaching. It's a great job and I meet a lot of interesting people. |
