DISMANTLING of LOWER GEARBOX
For the dismantling of the underwater gearbox please proceed as follows:
Dismantle the propeller blades and the nozzle. Cover the openings of the propeller hub.
For the later dismantling and mounting of the underwater gearbox you should add a retaining plate on each side of the nozzle connection on the underwater gearbox.
On each side of the retaining plate are two (2) lifting pads weld on.
For the lifting procedure by four (4) chains hoist block please provide four (4) lifting pads at the hull (bevelled above).
Now dismantle the gearbox cap and detach the mechanical feedback unit (flexball) and cover the gearbox.
By using chain hoist blocks assure the gearbox and dismantle the bolted connection.
Attention: weight of underwater gearbox with transmission shaft, approx. 15 tons.
Afterwards drop down slowly the underwater gearbox and cover the underwater gearbox with the gearbox cap.
Attention: Transmission shaft strikes down with the underwater gearbox.
MOUNTING OF LOWER GEARBOX
For the mounting of the underwater gearbox please proceed as follows:
For boosting you have to screw-on lateral the retaining plates of the underwater gearbox again.
Fix the underwater gearbox beneath the SRP together with vertical transmission shaft.
In each front and back third of the underwater gearbox you have to screw in two (2) thread bolts, (length approx. 1000 mm). After that dismantle the gearbox cap and cover the gearbox.
Lift up slowly the underwater gearbox and the transmission shaft with the chain hoist block and insert the mechanical feedback unit into the gearbox.
In this case pay attention that the underwater gearbox is parallel pulled up.
When intermediate size of approx. 500 mm (verify size between both screw up plains) you should start to lift up parallel the gearbox with the aid of thread bolts.
Hereby turn slowly the power input shaft at the upper gearbox until the profile of the transmission shaft with the profile of the upper water bevel gear set is connected again.
Flange plains have to endue with sealing material and screw-on the lower gearbox. Remount the nozzle as well as the propeller blades.
