Topic: Bugs. Where are the ants? They are next to the bees.
Aim: At the end of the lesson Ss will be able to talk about location of insects using the plural form and will have revised vocabulary referring to insects.
Class description: The students in this class are 9-10. There are 11girls and 12 boys.

10 min | T uses a toy to remind Ss prepositions: in front of, next to, behind. T puts at the desk her bag in a visible way. Next she puts hand puppetinto the bag and asks Ss a question: Where is it? 5. Listening comprehension practice Aim: to practice sentences with prepositions of location, to practise listening for specific information. |
10 min | T asks Ss to look at the big picture at page 42-43 and says to them that in a moment they will hear a recording with the description of 5 insects. Ss’ task is to find described insect in the picture and to say aloud, where they are using prepositions: next to, in front of or behind. T play and stops the recording before the sentences describing the location of insects. Feedback: T asks Ss for answers. Next she plays onward of the recording to check their correctness. |

5 min | T asks Ss to take their sets of flashcards with insects and put them in front of them with pictures up. Ss task is to arrange them in the way T describes, e.g. Put the fly behind the grasshopper. Put the beetle next to the fly. Put the ant in front of the grasshopper. T asks individual Ss about location of the insects, e.g. Where’s the ant?, etc. |

Lesson evaluation
Lesson went according to the plan. Ss were interested in the topic. The objectives of the lesson were reached. Pupils participated in the lesson willingly and their hands very often were up to ask question or to answer the questions asked by T. Ss were prepared to the lesson, so the atmosphere was light and there was cooperation between T and Ss.
