1 lere, lirst work the slanted edge ol the neckline m er the left side. To do this, work to the end of the seed stitch pattern stitches in a n>w on the wrong side of the work, tum, .ind work the first stitch as .1 sekedge stitch (seam sekedge worked in stockinettc stitch). Now work the last seed stitch patiem stitch together with the next stitch. matching the pattern, evcry fourth row. It looks best il the last seed stitch pattern stitch is .1 purl stitch; then voti can purl the 2 stitches together. If the last stitch in the large seed stitch pattern has to be worked as a knii stitch, it is hetter to work another 2 rows hetore starting with the decreases.
Work rhc right side ot the front in reversc. To do this, cast on 8 ncw stitches fot the neckhand. and work 7 stitches in large seed stitch over thcsc stitches. Hien |otn thesc stitches to the piece and compłcte the work in reverse. Scw lite underneath part ot the neckhand to the inside with slip stitches.
You can nlso conrinuc this neckhand for the back neckline. To do this, cast on an addinonal sekedge stitch on the inside edge, lvfore or atter the sccd stitch pattern stitches, depending on which side you are worktng. at shouldcr seam lcvel, and work ovcr thcsc 9 stitches to the center ot the back neckline. Sew the neckband stitches together using grafring stitch, and sew the neckhand onto the back neckline.
This neckline was worked without any neckband. 1«* do this, it is import ant to work the sekedge stitches very evenly and tightly. 1 lere. the sekedge stitches are purlcd in cverv rmv and pulled tight.
