Jacquard and Textured Pattern Sweater

Sizc: 8/10

Yarn: Cotton yam approx. 85 m (93^v^)/50k(1V4oz);600k (21 o:.) of mim, 150 u (5'/j oz) ofMiick, 50 a (1' 11*2) each of red, curry, nauir.il, hrown, and ycllow Basic pattern I: Work the jacquard pattern in stockinctte stitch on si:c 6 needles. The pattern chart shows evcry ro\\ Read RS rows front riglu to Iclt, WS rows front lcft to righc. Work itll selvedge stitchcs with hoth color yarns.

Gaugc I: 22 st and 27 rmv> 4" x 4' Basic pattern II: Work the tcxturcd pattern on si:e 6 needles. Only the RS rows are slunvn; on WS rows, work all stitchcs as they lie.

Gaugc II: 22 st and 30 rows 4" X 4"

Ribbing: Altemately kl, pl on sirc 3

needles.

Back: Cast on 124 st with black and work ribbing for \ W srarring on WS. In the last WS row. inc 11 st evenly distrihuted over row <135 sio Now work the 56 rows in basie partem I as fołlows: selv st, partem repeat 5x. st I u* 13 of pattern repear, selv st.

Tlien Work in basie pattern II as follows: selv <t. pattern repeat 1 lx. last st of chart, solv st.

W/hen the piece is 1 Vh" long, bind off 1 st cvcry other row on hoth side> 12x for the armholcs (111 st).

When the piece h 28' long, bind off the center 29 st. then 3 st lx and 2 sr lx, every other row. on hoth sidc>, for the ncckline.

When the piece is 28 V long, bind off the shoulder stitchcs.

Front: Work li ko the back. but when the piece is 25*>4* long, bind ofl the center 15 st, then 3 st lx, 2 st 2x. and 1 st 5x, every orher row, on hoth sides, tor the ncckliuc.

Slceves: Cast on 46 sr wirh black and work ribbing for V. Turl the last row on W’S. inc 9 sr evenly dism-butcd over the row (55 st).

Now work Rows 1 tcs 31 of basie pattern I. then conrinuc in basie paltem II. Center the patterns on the tniddle ot the slecve. In the jaojuard pattern, stitch 1 3 is the center st. For the slanted edgeś of the sleeve, on hoth sides. inc 1 st every tburrh row 15x, then inc 1 st altemately cvcry second and every lourth row another 2Cx (125 st). When the piece is 18” long, bind oflf 3 sr everv other row 4x. and 2 st evcry other row 3x. Then bind off the remaining stitchcs in a jtraight linę.

Finishing: Sew the shoulder seams, sew on the sleeees, and then sew the side seams and sleeve seams. For the ncckhand, cast on 124 st with rust
