“Out at...” means bring the needle from the back of the work through to the front. “In at...” means take the needle from the right side of the work through to the back. Suggested colours: antiąue gold thread, 5 black beads, on white card.

Outline.
Out at A in at B.
Out at C in at D.
Out at E in at F.
Continue this seąuence around the outline until it is complete using the diagram as a guide.
Wings.
Work the wings in stem stitch using the diagram ąs a guide.
Beak.
Stitch the beak using the diagram as a guide.
Eyes.
Stitch two beads in place for the eyes using the diagram as a guide.
Birds 2 and 3.
Work birds 2 and 3 in a similar way to bird 1 using the diagram as a guide. Notę that bird 3 has visible feet.
