Cactus Garden

Materidlę For Each Child:

1 posterboard cactus cutout

10 wooden toothpicks, cut in half

yellow tissue-paper scraps

a yogurt Container filled with sand or pebbtes

green tempera paint in shallow contamers

sponge and giue

Class Preparations'-

For each child. use the patiem below to cut a

posterboard cactus. Cut ten toothpicks in hatf.

Fili yogurt contamers with sand or pebbies.

Pirections:

1.    Paint the cactus by dlpping the sponge Into paint and dabbing it on the cutout. Allow to dry.

2.    Paint the other side to match. Allow to dry

3.    Glue the sides of the toothpicks on the cactus to make spikes on both sides.

4.    Crumple yellow tissue-paper scraps to create cactus flowers. Glue onto the cactus tips.

5.    Stand up the cactus in a yogurt Container filled with sand or pebbies.

6.    Place all of the cactus pots on a table to make a pamted desert. O
