TO MAKE

Head: Form loop with end of thread. RNDS 1-9: Ch 1 and work in sc, inc up to md 3, work even up to md 8. then dcc 4 sts on md 9 as per detail diagrams; join each md with I sl st in first sc. StufF head with cotton at end of rnd 9 as shown. Body: Contwith RND 10: Replacing first dc with 3 ch throughout. work 2 dc in each st of md 9 (= 24 dc in all); join with 1 sl st in top of ch-3. RND 11: Inserting hook once in each st. work * 3-tr cl (see symbol). 7 ch, rep frorn * 7 times morę; join with 1 sl st worked in top of first 3-tr cl and cont with I sl st in first ch Ip. RND 12: Work **14 dc in ch ip below. then (5 dc, 6 tr, 5 dc) in each of next 3 ch lps. rep from **; join same as on md 10. RND 13: Ch 1, work 1 sc in dc, then *sk 1 dc, I sc in next dc* 6 times. sk next 3 ch lps covered with dc and tr. 1 sc in lirst dc of next ch Ip. rep from * to * 6 times, sk next 3 ch lps and join with I sl st worked in first sc = 14 sc for top of “skirf*. RNDS 14-20: Altemately work dc and ch lps as shown on diagram; join same as on rnd 10 and, up to md 18, cont willi sl st in top of next dc. At end of rnd 20, fasten olT (= black wedge). Edging: Work 1 md sc with metallic gold thread all around md 20; fasten off. Work in same way around euff of each sleeve (see bold type on diagram). Complete Itanging loop as per additional instructions and fasten off.
