MATERIALS:

Cordonnet crochei cotton size 20, white, about 175 yds. plus smali amount eacli green and pink. Steel crochet hook US size 10 (1.00 mm) or SIZE FOR GAUGE.

GAUGE:

First 3 rounds of A measure 7/8” in diameter.

TO MAKE

ROSĘ A: Using pink, ch 10 and join with sl st in first ch to Fonu ring. RNDS 1-7: Ch 1 and work following pat diagram (notę: ch 1 at beg of rnds starting with sc does not count as first sc). On rnds 4 and 6, fold petals of md below toward center and work sc back of petals in sc of next-to-last md below as per tiny arrows. At end of md 7, fasten off (see black wedge).

LEAVES: RS of rosę facing, attach green with sl st in sc to which white wedge points. RND I: Replacing first tr with 4 ch, work * 2-tr Bel. 11 ch. rep front * 5 tintes morę, inserting hook for eacli sc in sc on rnd 6 of rosę (and back of petals formed on rnd 7); join with sl st in top of first Bel. RND 2: * 6 ch, 2-dtr Bel in top of 2-tr Bel below, sl st in 6th ch of next ch-11 lp, 6 ch, 2-dtr Bel in last sl st, I sl st in next Bel below, rep front * 5 times morę. RND 3 (3-leaf grps, 12 in all): Replacing first trtr with 6 ch, beg eacli 3-leaf grp thus: leaving last lp of eacli st on hook, work I trtr. in first cross strand of trtr just madę w'ork 2 dtr, yo and draw tliru all 4 Ips on hook (= 3-si el madę), 5 ch = first leaf madę. 3-trtr Bel in same cross strand as before, 5 ch = 2nd leaf madc and 3-dtr Bel in sanie cross strand = 3rd leaf madę. Complete each of remaining 11 grps in this way (for first grp, Work 2nd and 3rd leaf in 2nd ch of ch-6); join rnd same as on md I. Cut green (see black wedge).

MAT: RS of piece facing, attach white tliread with sl st as per white wedge. RNDS 1-14: Cli 1, work 8 pineapples with 1 fan bet each following diagram and additional symbol for 3-tr el (use same cluster principle for 2-tr cis). At end of rnd 14, fasten off (= black wedge).
