PERIODIC MAINTENANCE 2-17

♦    Clean the drive Chain with non-flammable cleaning solvent.

♦    Do not use gasoline to clean the drive Chain.

♦    Dry the drive Chain.

♦    Apply Suzuki Chain Lube or an equivalent to the link plates and rollers.

*    Reassemble the drive Chain.

NOTĘ:

Reassemble the dhve Chain clip so the slit end faces opposite the direction of rotation.

*    Adjust the drive Chain slack.

SPROCKET INSPECTION    <_c ^ ,

♦ Inspect the engine sprocket and rear sprocket for wear

cracks. Replace the sprockets as neceśsary.V \ \ ^

NOTĘ:

When repfacing a worn sprocket; ftis likefy Wat the drive Chain will neecl to be replaced as well.

♦    inspect the drive Chain guide © for bends and damage. NOTĘ:

The drive Chain can hit a bent guide causing ncise and drive Chain wear.

♦    Inspect the Chain guide defense (2> for wear.
