Freehand embroidery is one of the most] versatile and inexpensive crafts.

Ali you need to get started is a few skeins of embroidery thread, a Sharp needle

and a fabric nharker

BABY SUIT

To create our strawberry, we worked split stitch for the leaves, stem stitch for the fruit and single Chain stitches for the pips. Result, one unbelievably cute baby suit!

NOTEBOOK COVER

For an A5 notebook, cut a 28x53cm piece of linen. Fold the short edges in about 2cm and hem. Fold the long edges In about 2cm and press fiat with an iron. Fold each short edge In by about 8cm. Add a red runnlng stitch around the edges. Fold the edges of your stitched patch under and secure In place on your notebook front uslng red runnlng stitch.

WINĘ BOTTLE COVER

We worked our bunch of grapes entirely in beglnner-frlendly backstitch. Take two pieces of linen fabrlc, fray the top edges of both and sew together, elther by hand or with a sewing machinę. Flnlsh with a twlne bow for a rustic f inlsh.

Our pear has been worked in stem stitch and the stem in backstitch. Flnlsh by addlng a chunky ribbon and ric rac border. The only trouble Is, It looks too gorgeous to dry the dishes with!

Add style to any time of day from break fast to cocktail hour by addlng embroidery to a few vintage napkins. We worked our orange sllce In split stitch, uslng just two strands of cotton for a morę dellcate flnlsh.
