COOLING SYSTEM
WATER PUMP
MECHANICAL SEAL INSPECTION
Remove the lower cowling (page 12-3).
Inspect the telltale hole for signs of mechanical seal coolant leakage.
Replace the water pump as an assembly if the mechanical seal is leaking.
REMOVAL
Drain the engine oil (page 2-31.
Remove the gearshift retaining bolt and gearshift pedał. Remove the two mounting bolts and drive sprocket cover.

Drain the coolant (page 5-3).
Disconnect the water hoses from the water pump cover and water pump.
Remove the water pump mounting bolts and water pump cover.
(1) WATER HOSES
(2) MOUNTING BOLTS
(3) WATER PUMP COVER
Remove the dowel pins and O-ring. Remove the water pump.
(1) DOWEL PINS
(2) O-RING
(3) WATER PUMP
