FLOWERS FOR A FRIEND
Bread dough
25g (1oz) white bread without the crusts / evei tablespoon white acrylic paint / level tablespoon PVA glue % level teaspoon glycenne or glycerol You will need:

OSmall piece oasis
Florisfs wire
Pmk, green and cream paints

Divide the bread dough into four pieces and colour them pink, cream and green. Leave one piece white (see Colouring Bread Dough on page 10).
You will need to make the following (see pages 16 and 17 for details):
• twelve pink roses,
• twenty-four ears of corn, twelve green and twelve cream,
• eight cream leaves.
Attach each piece to florist's wire with PVA glue. To attach the leaves, dab some PVA glue on the back of the leaf and lay a length of florisfs wire on the back so that the wire is lying fiat against the leaf. Stand the finished shapes in oasis to dry.
Roli some very tiny balls of white dough and attach these to florisfs wire with a dab of PVA glue. Use these smali fantasy flowers to fili in any spaces when you arrange the fiowers in the basket.
Varnish all the flowers, leaves and corn and leave to dry.
Cut a smali piece of oasis and push ;t in the front pocket of the basket. Arrange the flowers, leaves and corn in the oas*.
Tie the ribbon around the basket handle in a bow. Take two lengths of florisfs wire and twist them together. Push the wire through the back of the ribbon and twist it to form a hanging loop.
