SANTA CLAUS

Push the hairpin in at the lower part of the head under the chin, and lay it or a baking tray. Make a smali circle of crumpled kitchen foil, and place it around the head to stop it from rolling around.

STo make the arms and mittens, roli a finger ropę of dough about 126mm (5in) long. Cut the ropę in half and round off one end of each piece with your finger and thumb. Flatten the ends slightly to make the hands. Cut a notch for the thumbs using the knife. Make a hole 6mm (%in) in at the top of each arm with the drinking straw.

To make the legs and boots, roli a finger ropę of dough about 160mm {6A\n) long and cut it in half. Make a hole 6mm (Jdin) from the top of each leg with the drinking straw. Round off the end of each leg to make the boot.

SPut the legs and arms on a

baking tray with the head and bakę at 100ⁿC (200°F or Gas Mark Z) for about five hours. After the dough has cooled, add some fast-setting glue to keeo the hairpin at the bottom of the head in place.

Thread some sewing cotton through the hole of the hairpin and the holes in the arms and legs. Make loops to hang each piece up with.

Hang the head, arms and legs up so they are easier to paint and varnish.
