These arc Ihe rui es for a modificd verslon of the Idaho Tomorrow Gamc designed for play at home or the classroom by łmaginative adults and teenagers. NT y- Tbe point of the gamc is to let every player help mold Idaho’s futurę in the directJonhedesires. ftftThls- gamę is unlike any other 'gamę you have played. For one thlng, any of these ml es can be changed at any tlme by a vote of three-fourths of tbe players. If you can get enough support from your fellow players you can change the gamę into anything from “Christians and Lions” to •‘Mafia.**
THE PLAYERS: To begin there are four-players.-but this-number can* bc-enlargcd. You need at least four. The śtarting four are a Farmer, a Businessman, a Retired Person and a School Teacher.' When a player chooses his role, say that of a farmer, be musi begin to think like a farmer. His goals musi be those of a farmer.
same thlng applies Ło the bther roi es. •
K RESOURCES: Each player • has certa in resources at his disposaJ. Each . has twenty dołlars and each has 15 ‘ yotes. He can use these either to support a particular goal or to oppose U. In addltlon each player has his most imporfant resource, •. his ability to pursuAtieotherstohelp. - :
*ć Also each player has the right to change his mlnd. Once he has used dołlars or votes to support or oppose a particular ca use, he can withdraw -support and get his money and votes back. This Is helpful in negotiatlons, ■ p&rticularly • in a gamę where you can*t count on anything. And as we śhali see later, there is tbe ultimate weapon. shudder, the “Black Bali.” l^GOALS: To start with — untU somebody tlnkers with the rui es — are five posslble- goals for dabo'8 futurę. Some of these are ive of other goals, and some
tlon tcrtheothers. 1 ..----
The five goals are: :) clean
enyirónmeht, 2) population growth, 3) maxlmum Income, 4) stop population growth and 5) increase food pro-duction. You can always add or subłract-goals lf you can get a threo-fourths vołe of the players.
