tudent Council, Mentors. and Leo Club contnbuted much to the 1989-90 school year with many activities tor students and the benefit ot the 218 community. Student Council sponsored several dances. the annual tood drive. blood drive, and spint day. Mentors helped out at the PIE craft Fair and found tjme to help incoming freshmen adjust to high school lite. The Leo Club sponsored many community service pro-jects, including collecting coloring books to distribute to children at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
Service clubs gave PIE students not only the special feelmg that comes trom helping others. but also the fun that came trom the joy and excitement o! working with other students tor a com-mon cause.
