Learners: 15 students, pre-intermediate

Aims of the class:

• to introduce new vocabulary (slavery, bullying, smoking, alcohol, gangs, drugs, graffiti, hunting, guns, protest)

• practice listening, reading and oral skill

Materials:

 Student's book „Adventures”, Ben Wetz, pre-intermediate

 Workbook „Adventures”, Mike Gammidge, Ben Wetz, pre-intermediate

STAGES	TIMING
Presentation	10'	Introducing new vocabulary (slavery, bullying, smoking, alcohol, gangs, drugs, graffiti, hunting, guns, protest) teacher gives the students Polish equivalent and they write the words in their notebooks
Practice	35'	Students practice the use of new vocabulary by deciding which of these things should be legal or illegal. They write their opinions in two columns(student's book, p.79, ex.3). After that exercise students work in pairs and exchange their opinions which things should be legal or illegal. Teacher is supervising the students. Students practice listening skill by listening about the society's rules and putting the sentences related with them in the correct order. (student's book, ex.8, p.80). Class checks the answers altogether Students practice reading skill by reading the text “Society's rules: then and now.” And answer the questions about the text. (student's book, ex.2, p.80). Teacher checks the answers by asking particular student.
