The futuristic scenarios sophisticated/elaborate in the years 1960 promised (imparfait) us: a big/great revolution in our diet/feeding/food/nourishment/alimentation/supplying/nutrition/ prepared/got ready/was brewing/was in the offing/was imminent/make or fix oneself/(imparfait) for the 21^st century.

The sentence is: La chimie allait transformer notre quotidien en nous proposant des préparations alimentaires reconstituées, prêtes à l'emploi, voire même des pillules et d'autres gélules a ingérer en guise de repas. My attempt: Chemistry was going to transform out daily life by proposing to us _food concoctions brought together, ready to use, and also even pills and other capsules to be consumed as part of a meal.
