FAST FOOD
1 ____ Obviously, fast food is generally considered to be tasty but there is another reason why people can't stop eating it. The amount of salt in the food is like a drug. After a while, people have to have more salt so they go back for more. The food is cheap, too. That helps.
2 ____ Traditionally, the most popular fast food in Britain was fish and chips. As more people came to live in Britain from other countries, people started eating different food. For a while, Chinese food was the most popular. Now, fried chicken is the fastest growing fast food.
3 ____ It's a difficult question. The authorities can try to teach people to eat more healthily but it is more difficult to tell them what they can and can't do. People don't like that. The main reason, though, is that these companies are very rich, and so very powerful.
4 ____ Fast food is very popular to eat on your way home and people often drop the packaging on the ground after eating it. Fast food restaurants are often not very environmentally friendly as they use a lot of plastic in their packaging.
5 ____ Perhaps not the food. However, we've probably all used some of the famous fast food restaurants, especially when abroad or travelling. They are always clean, bright and safe and, most important, the bathrooms are washed regularly!
