Lesson 23 Vocabulary and listening, activity 5
MAN Hey, this is a great party.
WOMAN I'm glad you were able to come.
MAN You must introduce me to your friends. Which one is Harriet? I've heard so much about her.
WOMAN Well, can you see the woman by the door?
MAN Er, which one?
WOMAN The one in the jeans.
MAN No, which door?
WOMAN There is only one door.
MAN Oh, right! Yes, I see. The one in the jeans and the T-shirt.
WOMAN Yes, she's standing by the door and talking to the middle-aged man. She's smiling at him.
MAN Great smile. And what about John?
WOMAN John is sitting down in the armchair by the window.
MAN Is he the one wearing the sweater and trousers?
WOMAN No, John's wearing the shirt and tie.
MAN OK, I see him. Nice tie. Love that yellow.
WOMAN And Edward is the man over by the window. He's laughing at something. Probably laughing at John's tie.
MAN The man in the trainers with the blue shirt and black trousers.
WOMAN That's Edward!
MAN Right! And Louise?
WOMAN Louise is standing by the television. She's wearing a black dress.
MAN Yes, I can see her. Hey, she's smiling at me.
WOMAN She smiles at everyone. She wears glasses, but she hasn't got them on at the moment.
MAN No, I'm sure she's smiling at me...
