WASHINTGTON D.C. – the national capital located in Maryland on the Potomac river. The design of WASHINGTON D.C Is purely French (There are no skyscrapers there). The city is named after the first president of the United States , George Washington.
The city was founded in 1791.
Before Washington D.C. became the capital of the United States , other cities that served as capital include New York, Philadelphia, and Annapolis.
