So lets start
Hello, my nam eis Wojciech Darowski i study at Uniwersity of science and technology in cracow and today I would like to present topic about Seals of motorcycles’ drive chains. I’ll try to present you what that seals are and I show the difrence between both of it.
Lets go to the plan of presentation
Firts I’ll tell you something abaout types of seals
Next is introduce x ring and o ring, then i present difference between both of it
And the last one will be adventages and disadventa
So
Motorcycle chains have two main types of seals. X and O Ring.
The first of them what I discuss is x Ring seal. The name comes from the shape of the seal. Seals is mounted between outer and inner sideplate and is designed to protect the connection from getting dirt inside the chain link. Sealants are usually made of special rubber or silicone
Next one is O-ring seal
Everything is the same as in the case of X- ring. We see the diference in theshape of it, besides oring has a diference in work parameters and now we moving on to the next part of presentation the differences
Xring has Lower coefficient of friction between inner and outer sideplate (about 50% - DID X-ring) and
Durability of X-ring seal is higher about 80% than O-ring its the most important diferent
The graph shows us relationhip between elongation and the distance, elangation we can take as seal life and the distance as a work time.
I just read the adventages so its a
Extend period of chain exploitation
Chemical resistantSmaller coefficient of friction
High temperature resistant (even up to 260° C)
I found only 1disadventage and it is the prise of the chain. If we have chain with seals the cost of it grow.
And on the end one simple conclusion if we have somthing better we need to pay fort hat
Thank you for your attention
