Stick this m piace as soon as it is madÄ™ using sugar glue to secure it, and then make the opposite leg.

With a little white modeiling pastÄ™, model two flattened oval-shaped eyes and thinly roli out and cut a tiny stnp for Daffy's neck. Also model his two smali black pupils. Stick everything in place with a little sugar gkje.

n Split 7g (7<oz) of the black modellmg pasie in half. Using the step

photograph as a guide, make an arm and hand with one half Roli the piece into a sausage. roundmg off one end. and press it gently to flatten it. Make a cut. siightiy to one sde for the thumb. and then make two cuts along the top to separate the fmgers Press gently on the fmgertips to create fullness then stroke the thumb down. To mark the eibow. push in halfway up the arm and pinch it out at the back. Stick the arm in place as soon as it s madÄ™ and then make the opposite arm in exactly the same way

Put a pea-sized amount of black aside. Using the remamder. model Daffy's taiÅ‚. First flatten a teardrop shape and then cut smali uneven cuts at the pointed end for taiÅ‚ feathers. Stick in place on his bottom and smooth the base mto the surface to remove the join. Model liny sausages rolled into pomts for hair and stick these on his head. at his elbows. shoulders and the top of his legs.

FINISHING TOUCHES

1 0 Colour 7g (/.oz) o? the modellmg pastÄ™ yellow. To f;rv.sh the I D flagpote. roli out and cut the flag using the template (see p.93). Stick this at the top of the flagpole. wrappmg it ali the way round. Create pleats m it to suggest movement and then lay it fiat until dry.

Stick a flattened bali of black onto the top of the flagpole. fotÅ‚owed by a siightiy larger flattened bali that i$ madÄ™ using a little of the green tnmmmgs.

Put the royal icing into a piping bag and cut a smafi hole m the tip. PipÄ™ wavy Imes along the wave$ Using a damp pamtbrush. immediately make brush marks away from the edge into the green. Ieavir»g a distinct linÄ™ to resemble foam at the front of each wave.

Wben the cake >s comptcteÅ‚y dry. paint a thin coat of confectoner's glaze over the surface of the sea to create a shine. Leave this to dry for around 10 minutes. then paint on another thin coat Make a hole in the dmghy and down through the cake using the end of a pamtbrush, and geniÅ‚y push in the end of the flagpofe.
