9. Fuli pattern and layout for Fig 7
The patterns are shown on 150 cm wide cloth folded crossways. This layout permits generous hem widths without piecing, though you may need extra length for the sleeves.
Plan the skirt as shown in Blocks, Fig 27, by extending the vertical construction linę to the reguired length. Plan the hem with the fullness towards the side and CB as shown. Referring to your kirtle pattern (Kirtles, Fig 4) make the cotehardie 10-15 cm longer with a total hem at least 30 cm wider. Here the Back hem is 84 cm and the Front hem is 80 cm, giving a total hem of 328 cm.
You may prefer to try out the pattern first in calico.
