Walker was then selectcd to rcplacc Steve Rogers as Captain America. Angcrcd, Lennox and his partner took on guises as Left-Winger and Right-Winger, and set out to destroy Walker s tenure as Captain America.

They revealed Walkers tnie identity to the media.

Walkers parents werc killed as a result. and he vowed vengcance. Lett-Winger was so badly burned in an ensuing explosion that he took his own lite. TB

His gricving brother, Erie, blaincd the Avcngcrs for Simon s death and determincd to destroy them, adopting the guise of the Grim ILeaper and forming die Lethal Legion of Super Villains.Tlie Legion $ elfom endcd in failurc. whilc Erics own enmity to the Avengcrs was compromi.sed following his brothers rcsurrection. Newrtheless the Lethal Legion lived on under the leadership of Coltnt Nefaria. Not much of a team player. Nefaria stole the powers of his tellów legionnarics but was still defeated, despite his augmemed abilities.

Following Grim Rcapcr*s death. the Legion s name was adopted by the demon lord Satannish. who resurreeted various historical figures—includingjoscf Stalin and Heinrich Himmler —to capture the souls of the Avcngers.
