FRONT WHEEL/SUSPENSION/STEERING

BEARING REPLACEMENT

NOTĘ

• Always replace the bearing and race as a set.

Install the steering stem nut onto the top end of the steering stem to prevent the threads from damaging.

Remove the lower bearing and dust seal using a punch or chis-el.

Replace the dust seal with a new one whenever it is removed.

Remove the upper and lower races using a bali race remover. TOOL:

Bali race remover    07953 —MAOOOOO or

Adjustable bearing remover    07736—A01000A

with commercially available siide hammer.

(1) BALL RACE REMOVER

11) DRIVER

Drive in new inner races.

TOOLS:

Driver    07749-0010000

Attachment, 42 x 47 mm    07746 — 0010300

(2) ATTACHMENT 42 x 47 mm

Install the dust seal and lower bearing using a hydraulic press and steering stem driver.

TOOL:

Steering stem driver    07946—4300100 or

Steering stem driver    07946 —MB00000

with steering bearing attachment GN HT 54
