Bread dough has a wonderfully fine texture which allows you to create delicate shapes, like flowers, leavesf butterflies and angel wings. It can be coloured before modelling by adding water-based paints to the dough.
100q (4oz) white bread. without the crusts 1 tablespoon white acrylic paint (available from DIY Stores) 3 tablespoons PVA glue (avai!able from art and craft shops) 1 teaspoon glycerine or glycerol (avaiiable from chemists)
I Break or cut the bread nto smali pieces and place them in an old mixing bowl. Add the paint, glue and glycerine or glycerol and bind the mixture together with a fork.
Scoop up the mixture and squeeze it together. It will be a sticky mess, but don't worry, this is normal. Continue sgueezing the mixture for about 15 minutes, and you will gradually notice that your hands become cleaner. You will then be able to knead the dough.
fKeep kneading until you have a soft bali of white dough. Kneading the dough thoroughly will help to prevent cracking.
