Summary

There is presented in the article the origin of the term "infometrics" and its connection with bibliometrics and scientome-trics. These terms are used in the literaturę not enough precisely, there is no accurate boundary between their scopes and no proper definitions. The basie informetric investigation consist in the analysis of citations.
