Aida Dadashova, PhD student of the Imtitute of Bolany of ANAS, Chair of CounciI of Young Scientists and Specialists ofthe Institute attended the VII Meeting of Global Plants Initiative (GPI) held on 22-26 September, 2014 in Panama in the framework of project supported by Andrew W.Mellon Foundation (USA).

As the major problems, the current and futurę problems that may arise in the herbarium foundations of world, JSTOR's adb/antages and disadvantages etc. were discussed in the Meeting. Process of the including of type specimens conserved in Herbarium Foundation of the Institute of Botany ofANAS to this dataha.se was also discussed during Meeting with the representatives ofGPI.

JOINT EXPEDITJON WITH SWISS BOTANISTS In theframework of joint project and cooperation between the Institute of Botany of ANAS and Fribourg Natuarl History Museum and University of Fribourg (Swilzerland) on 21-26 September, 2014 young scientists of the Institute of Botany and Central Botanical Garden of ANAS Dr. Rashad Salimov and Farid Seyfullayev participated in the joint expedition with Sebastian Betrisey and Daniel Ducry, the experts on flora of Fribourg to the Lankaran-Astara regions. During expedition, they carried out investigations in mixed types of Zelkova forests on various altitudes of Lankaran, Lerik and Astara regions with the participation of Dr. Hajiaga Safarov and by means of modern methods they studied the phytosociological structure, number and composition of association offorest ecosystem in the regions.
