GIVING PERSONAL INFORMATION

1.HOW DO YOU LIKE SPENDING YOUR HOLIDAYS?

Holidays is mostly the only time when I can have fun with my family or friends and I

don’t have to worry about school, job, money and all this things that makes everybody
nervous. Because it is usually hot and sunny I choose to go at the seaside where I can spend
whole days on the beach. When I want to take a cool break from the hot sand and hot air I can
swim in the sea. Swimming in the sea gives me a lot of fun, especially when there is wind and
there are big waves. Some people like to sunbathe but I’m more active person and it seems
pretty boring to me. I prefer to be more active that’s why I visit the coast with a group of
friends. We stay in a hotel and play valley ball on the beach or when we want to chill down
we play games in the sea.

2 WHICH PLACES WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT?

The first and most exotic place to be is Palm Island, and there I would like to go. The

Island is ,as the name goes, shaped like a Palm, and this place is created by people. The one of
the most fabulous and luxurious places

on earth is also pretty expensive one that’s why

probably I will never get there. Next place which I would like to visit is Paris and the Eifel
Tower from which I could see the whole city. I would also like to see the expedition in the
famous museum there and see the performance in Mulin Rouge. The third place I would like
to visit is Monte Carlo not only for the hot climate, but mostly to see the Casino there and If I
were lucky, maby I could win some money? Beautiful beaches and warm blue sea is the
paradise I would like to see. If I could go there I would probably see some famous people
such as Tina Turner, Robby Wiliams, who have their houses here. It would be marvelous.

3. HOW DO YOU PREFER TO TRAVEL?

For me the best way to travel is a car. It is very convenient mean of transport because

it makes the world very small. The time of departure is up to me and I decide where to go,
when, and where to stop. The only thing that limits me is petrol and money, of course. But
there are situations when my car br

akes down. Then I choose to go by train, maby it isn’t the

most comfortable form of travel but still it has something in it. I like the sound of wheels on
tracks because it makes me more relaxed. When I travel by train I usually meet lot of different
people who always have exciting stories to tell. Sometimes I make friends in that way but
usually every passenger goes it his/her way. In the future, when I will work, I would like to go
abroad by plane. It has to be exciting experience watching the world below covered with
clouds.

4. IS THERE SOMETHING YOU WISH WAS DIFFERENT NOWADAYS?

Although I love my life in every aspect of it, there are few things I would like to

change in the world I am living. The first thing I would like to change is our behavior towards
others. We live side by side but we don’t have friends, relationships or even families any
more. What is important in our life is money, position, and we begin a rat race just after
graduating from universities. There is no time to meet friends, to have a partner, to visit and
spend some time with family, there is even not enough time to rest, because we have different

priorities than people in the past. Honestly I would like to have a job and some free time for
my hobbies and make a living. Nowadays it is impossible because your boss expects you to
work 10 hours a day or even more if you want to have a descent living, especially in such
countries as Poland. The next thing which could change is technological progress and heath
care. I would like to live in a very modern society with higher standards of life, where every
disease have a cure and people care about each other more than nowadays. I wish that I could
travel much easier and cheaper thanks to new technologies and do things quicker in order to
have more spare time to develop my abilities and skills.

5. DO YOU ENJOY LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGES?

In the contemporary world learning foreign languages has become both fashionable

and necessary. Personally, I like learning foreign languages because it is a must if you want to
be successful businessman. I learn to communicate with foreigners but also to know what
singers sing about, or to be able to make sightseeing visits to other countries. Also foreign
language, especially English gives more possibilities of having a job. What is more, on my
course I have possibility to learn professional English, so with vocabulary connected to my
chosen profession.

6. SHOULD EVERYONE LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE?

I believe that everybody should learn a second language because learners have also

the chance to see how it differs from their mother tongue and can learn something new about
other cultures, customs, habits etc. In that way people who learn a second language gain
knowledge about other people in the world and when they visit this target country they are
able not only to communicate with foreigners but also know how to behave in certain
situations. Thanks to learning foreign languages we can communicate verbally, read, write
and we become more open-minded.

7. HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO TO THE CINEMA? WHAT KIND OF FILMS DO
YOU LIKE WATCHING?

I like watching films in the cinema very much. From time to time I go with my friends

to the cinema to watch new films on a big screen because it is nice way to spend the evening.
Horrors and comedies are my favourite types of movies. I like horrors because they are scary
and the ending is always surprising. This kind of film has a lot of action. Comedies are the
best way to spend some time with friends or family in nice atmosphere. I like American
comedies because they are light and funny and they make people laugh.

8. WHAT CAREER WOULD YOU LIKE TO PURSUE WHEN YOU FINISH
UNIVERSITY?

When I graduate from my University I would like to pursue a job according to my

profession. I would like to be a businessman and own a building company. I would like to do
business with somebody I could trust, for example with my friends from my University which
I know like the back of my hand. In my opinion reputation, good advertisements and location
are key words to gain success, there fore I would choose the place carefully and move to one
of the biggest cities in Poland, foe example Warsaw. I would like to build huge and

impressive skyscrapers or luxurious houses of famous and rich people. I will be an honest and
good boss and pay my employees as much as I can because I know how it is hard to work as a
normal worker.

9. DO YOU ENJOY SPENDING TIME AT HOME?

I enjoy spending my time at home very much. Perhaps it is because I don’t see my

family very often because now I live in a dormitory, and when I go to visit them we have
many topics to talk about. Usually when I step in to my home my mom serves me warm and
delicious dinner and I am treated as a guest. Everybody is so kind to me and ask me questions
about my studies and friends from Płock. The situation is a bit different when I spend my free
time in Płock in my room because there is nothing to do accept the things that I do every day.
Then I usually play on the computer listening to loud music or watch films with my
roommate. But it is not the same as spending time in my family town where the saying :
“home sweet home” makes sense…

10. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR ENTERTAINMENT?

Normally, I don’t have much time for my entertainment because I have a lot of duties

connected with school, job, traveling from one place to another, but when I have some spare
time I try to spend it with my friends going for a walk or playing with them outside the
dormitory. When the weather is sunny, we play football outside on the grass or plan a grill
party just to chat. But when the weather is pretty cold, I stay in my room watching film,
listening to music or playing on the computer. In the winter time I enjoy skating with my
friends because we have lot of fun together at the rink or making a snowball fight. We also go
together to a disco to have a nice time in good atmosphere, to dance and to joke all night long.

11. HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO TO PARTIES? DO YOU ENJOY THEM?

Party is always a good occasion for me to meet some friends and to talk and dance in

nice atmosphere. A good opportunity for a party can be not only a birthday, nameday but also
spontaneous events specially among students. Personally I love parties not only for friendly
people that surrounds me but also for the atmosphere itself of having free time and spending it
listening to club music. Usually I go to a party once a week but it is connected with my free
time limited by lessons, material which I have to cover and money of course! Here, in Plock I
can go out mostly at Wednesday because then majority of people go out and there is higher
possibility to meet friends and spend time together. Going to a party is also a good
opportunity to me to meet future boyfriend/girlfriend. When people are dressed up with
phantasy and share the same passion to one kind of music it is easier for me to talk to
somebody and there is higher possibility that we will have similar topics to discuss. I like
parties for their special atmosphere and I enjoy them as much as I can having the time of my
life on the dance floor.

12. DO YOU DO ANY SPORTS?

People are interested in different things: some of them like fishing, some collect

stamps. My hobby is sport. I like to work out on a gym. I do it every day, in regular time I
train different parts of my body. For each exercise I have 15 minutes so I know I wont feel

lousy the very next day. But my real passion is football and riding a bike. My football career
started couple of years ago when I was in the high school. But then it was more important to
me than now. Time passed and I’ve grown up. I play more for pleasure of being with my
friends than of winning. Now, I watch matches on TV more than play,

but I’m a big fan of

Menchaster United and when I watch a football match I feel as if I was there, playing with
ball. Recently I’ve discovered how much fun can give riding a bike. I hate to travel by bus so
I can ride on it where I want by the power of my feet.

13. WHERE DO YOU LIVE AND WHAT DO YOU LIKE/DISLIKE ABOUT LIVING
THERE?

I used to live in my family town but now I’m studying here and I live in Płock in one

of dormitories called “WCZEŚNIAK”. From the beginning it was hard to adapt myself to
acad

emic standards not only to a dormitory but also to the city. Where I live, we don’t travel

by busses across the city so it looked pretty scary but when I got used to it, it came to me that
larger cities provide better opportunities in every way. The thing that I like about living in
WCZEŚNIAK is easy access to people and facilities that are provided by my dorm. I can get
information what is going on in my school (because a lot of my friends live here). This is a
place where I can borrow books when I need them, I have always somebody to talk to and
everything what is needed is just stone throw away. The facilities also make my life easier. I
can use gym whenever I want, go to special room with television set and see what’s on, or if I
lack information I can always use the computer where I can surf on the internet. But there are
several things that I dislike about my place of living.. I have hardly any privacy due to the fact
that I’m shearing one room with my roommate and when I want to invite my
girlfriend/boyfriend it is an obstacle. Also I share shower and toilet with 7 people and
sometimes it is hard to keep things clean. But despite of all disadvantages I enjoy living in a
dorm because it is fun and for me this is a real school of life, where you meet different people
from different backgrounds where you can learn tolerance and what is real friendship.

14. DO YOU HAVE MUCH CONTACT WITH YOUR NEIGHBOURS?

Being honest, since I’ve moved to Plock I have very limited contact with my

neighbours. Usually I see them passing by with shopping and saying hello. Here I have good
contact with my new neighbours because mostly they are at my age and are also studying at
Politecnics. Mostly they are my friends so we meet every day if we like it or not. Even an
elevator is a good place to start a conversation about every day life. Because we live together
as students sometimes me and some of my neighbours go out together for a walk or go to a
party. I like the fact that I live in a dormitory because I can meet a lot of people with the same
problems, likes, dislikes. I know that I can always count on them and treat them as my friends
and I know that I will never forget them.

15. WHERE DO YOU MEET YOUR FRIENDS?

Usually I meet my friends at school because it isn’t only place where I can learn but

also place where I socialize with others. After school I go to my dormitory, to my room and I
meet a lot of people during a day. But mostly I meet them when I go out to a party in a club.
When the music is around and everybody have a good time I dance on the floor with a group

of my friends. Sometimes after school I go out to eat a pizza together with my collegues and
drink a beer to forget about school problems, tests etc.

16. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN LEARNING ENGLISH AND WHAT DO YOU
FIND DIFFICULT ABOUT LEARNING IT?

I have been learning English about 7 years now but I still have some problems with

new language. The biggest problem for me is large variety of tenses to remember, a bit
different grammar than the polish one and of course English pronunciation of words. I have
also difficulty with writing for example a letter or a story, because I don’t have humanistic
sense and for me it is a problem. The biggest problem is to speak in foreign language,
specially while examination where stress is so high that I can hardly think. When I want to
start a conversation with foreigner I also have problems to speak my mind. But still learning
English is something I want to do, because language is still developing and I want to develop
my skills too.

17. HOW WILL YOU USE YOUR ENGLISH IN THE FUTURE?

I’m of the opinion that the more I know, the better I am. I know for sure that I will

need my English to have a job, to communicate, to visit other countries, that’s why I have to
continue developing all skills to be able to live up to expectations of employers and generally
speaking of all people, because using English nowadays is a basic ability required in the
world. In the nearest future I’ll need English to communicate with foreigners because I want
to go abroad. I see this language more as international, therefore I believe that I will talk to
people from different places and I will know more about their culture.
18. WHAT ARE THE SPECIAL OCCASIONS WHEN ALL YOUR FAMILY IS
TOGETHER?

Every weekend is a special occasion for me because then I visit my family in my home

town and all members of the family are present: my parents, my brother, sister and me. But
there are some holidays when all of my relatives get together. On Christmas Eve I meet my
cousins, aunts and uncles under one roof

– at grandmothers’ house. Her home unites all of us

sitting behind the Christmas table and singing carols. This day is treated as a family day when
relatives try to be together. Next special occasion when all of my family is together is Easter.
On Easter Saturday morning every child has to paint his own egg and put it into a basket to
have it blessed. Sunday breakfast is a special one for me. The whole family seats together and
eats the food blessed the previous day. But my favorite holiday is Easter Monday when me
and my family pour water on each other. We have fun together with my cousins spending
time outdoors.

19. HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

After a long and tiring day at school I like to spend my free time in such a way that

makes me feel relaxed. The kind of activity I choose depends upon the time of the year. When
it is sunny and warm I go out. When it is cold and rainy- I stay indoors. In the summer I like
to ride my bicycle and sometimes I go for a walk with my friends. I like to visit my friends
and I like them to visit me. As we always have something interesting to talk about, we never

get bored with each other. Going for long walks and cycling are favorite outdoor activities of
mine. Late in the evening I

like to read magazines or play games on the computer when it’s

cold. I don’t spend much time in front of TV screen because I like to be up-to-date with all the
new films, so I use the internet very often to see some movies. Sometimes, after a busy day
the best way of spending my free time after school is just lying in bed, doing nothing.

20. DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH FREE TIME?

I have not much time during the week as I have many lessons at school. From Monday

to Friday I am busy at school. After school I do my homework and it takes couple next hours
of hard work. I have to do some projects that involve drawing, sometimes cooperation with a
computer. It takes time and I have to focus very hard because there is no place for mistakes.
When I’m finished with that, I take a shower and eat my supper in my room with my
roommate. As I don’t have much free time during the week to meet my friends, I meet them
on Saturday or Sunday. I pay them visits, we chat for hours. We go together to the disco, or
pub, or just for a walk.

21. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THAT FOR SOME
REASON YOU CANNOT?

I remember that when I was a child I have always wanted to be a pilot. I played with

toy planes and imagined that one day I will fly. But couple of years ago I wanted to go to
University to make my wish come true. I had to make some tests and pass them to become a
pilot, but unfortunately I can’t see well. Then I’ve started to think about doing something else
but it is still a dream to me. I would like also to fly, even as a passenger of the plane to make a
part of my dream come true.




22.HAVE YOU EVER LIVED ABROAD? IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO?
WHY/WHY NOT?

I have never lived abroad but last summer I went on my holidays to France for 2

weeks. Everything there was gre

at and I’ve enjoyed this trip very much. I would like to stay

there longer because I want to find a well paid job and a place to stay. In France I would earn
more and I learn French probably quicker than in any polish school. I would like to live
abroad because I like meeting different people, developing my languages and earning good
money. Even though I love my country I would like to take the chance of having better life
somewhere else.

23. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE DOING IN 5 YEARS’ TIME?

In 5 years time I will graduate from my school and look for a job. I will rent a flat and

leave my family town and go to Warsaw because there are a lot of opportunities. If I will be
lucky I will meet boy/girl with whom I will live and perhaps I will get married and start my
own family. I would like to create my own company with a financial help of my father to earn

money. In 5 years time I think I will be focused on my job and relationship. I will probably
forget about my friends from school and start an adult life.

24. WHAT ARE YOUR REASONS FOR LEARNING ENGLISH?

I learn English not because I have to, but because I want to. I would like to go abroad

and to be able to communicate with foreigners in English. Also when I will go for example to
England it will be easy to make friends, or work there. I study English also because I want to
have a job and maby go abroad to earn more money. I want to study English to visit many
countries and go sightseeing, understand what people are saying to me. I’m also learning
English to understand films without translations and words of my favourite songs.

25. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT STUDYING HERE?

Studying at Politechnics gives a lot of opportunities and I enjoy studying here very

much. Thanks to this school I have met a lot of people who are just like me. Also I like the
city where I study because there are many places to go, many things to see. In Płock we have
a theatre, museums, clubs with good music and good restaurants, the Zoo. I like also parks
near the Vistula. When the weather is warm the city organizes open air concert.I enjoy the
place I live in. I like WCZESNIAK because there are many interesting people who became
my friends. They are friendly and I like to spend my free time with them. We are close to each
other and I know that they will always help me.

26. WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS AND HOBBIES?

I am interested in various things. I like to read good books, listen to the music and

watch films with my friends. My favourite pastime is listening to the music. When the music
is on I can read a book or a magazine. Also I am interested in photography. I like to go out
with my camera and take some photos of Płock. I like to make photos of faces. I have many of
that kind of photos of my friends. I can say that cycling is also my hobby. I like to travel by
bike from one place to another. When the weather is nice, I take my bike and go for a ride.
For me it’s the best way to travel. Sometimes I go on my bike to the forest, to breathe some
fresh air, but usually I go around the city to see what is going on. Besides I like to spend time
with my friends.

27. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

In the future I want to graduate from my school and find a job. Probably I will move to

Warsaw and I will rent a flat for some time. I need to work because I must earn some money
to have my own company and to be independent. I want to go abroad to earn some money.
There I will spend probably one or two years. When I return, I will look for good location and
start my own business where I will be the boss. In the future I want to make a project of my
own house and build it. I’m planning to get married with beautiful woman/man, and to have
two children. When I will have money, I will buy a sports car, because they are fast and they
look nice. I want to support all of my family and parents too.

28. DO YOU PREFER A SUMMER OR A WINTER HOLIDAY?

I like both summer and winter holiday because then I have free time, I can do

whatever I like, I can visit many places and meet my friends. I prefer summer holiday because
then I have more time to relax. They last two moths or even three, so I have plenty of time to
use. I like summer holiday because it is warm and sunny. I can go to at the seaside where I
can spend the whole day just lying on the beach sunbathing. I like swimming, so I can cool in
warm water and play all day long. Also I like summer evenings because I can meet my friends
and make a bone fire. The atmosphere is nice when everybody sing songs and tell jokes. I
enjoy this time very much and I wait for summer all year. What I like about it best is the fact
that I can visit other countries and go abroad. I like traveling to new places and meeting
foreigners. In summer holidays I always have fun together with my friends and have time to
relax.

29. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS? WILL YOU
GO ON YOUR OWN OR WITH YOUR FAMILY?

My plan for this summer is to go abroad with my friends to Italy near the coast and

stay there for two or three week

s. I’ve already saved some money to pay for the tickets and

now I want to go to work to earn more for living there. I’m planning to spend the whole time
in Italy sunbathing, swimming and having fun just to relax and forget about my problems for
a while. I’m happy that my friends will go with me, so we will have more fun together. I want
to visit many interesting places and learn more about Italian culture. I would like also to taste
some Italian food such as spagetti and pizza. I want to see some sights, beautiful views and
buy some souvenirs that will always remind me of those places. I will also send a postcard for
my family so they could see how beautiful Italy really is.

31. DO YOU LIVE NEAR WHERE YOU STUDY? HOW DO YOU GET THERE?

I live in the dormitory. It is situated near my school. It takes 15 up to 20 minutes to get

there by foot in straight line, passing blocks of flats, then going straight on the crossroads and
passing the shopping mall. There is also a possibility to get there by bus. To get to the bus
stop I must cross the street, pass a block of flats and turn right on the crossroads. Then I wait
until my bus arrives. I always go by bus with number twenty. Going by bus takes me about
10 minutes or more if he it’s late, that’s why I prefer to walk to the school. Sometimes my
friends from my dormitory give me a lift to the school by car, but that do not happen very
often.

32. WHERE DID YOU SPEND YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS?

I’ve spent my last summer holidays in my home town because I had no money to go

somewhere else. But it was fun thanks to good and sunny weather and I could do whatever I
want. I have spent a lot of time with my family and friends. I went fishing with my father near
the river and we caught some fish. From Monday to Friday I spent a lot of time in my room in
front of a television set watching films and relaxing. Every weekend I went near the lake
where me and my friends made bone fires. We had a lot of fun being together, playing
football, playing cards or just chatting. Sometimes we went to a club to have some fun
together on a dance floor. In the evenings I loved to listen to the music reading magazines
about cars or planes. When I had nothing else to do I red a book or played games on the
computer. I hope to go somewhere with my friends next time.

33. WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOURSELF INFORMED ABOUT DAILY
EVENTS?

To keep myself informed about daily events I watch the news on television. I watch it

regularly every

day at eight o’ clock. I don’t like listening to radio because I like to see what

is going on, not only hear it. I like to know what is going on not only in Poland but also in the
world, that’s why I use also the internet. For me the internet is the biggest source of
information. I can not only check what is happening by reading, but also see the news if I
want. I can pick what topic do I want to see or read about and with a click of a mouse I’m
informed about daily news and events from all over the world.

34. DO YOU THINK IT IS BETTER TO LISTEN TO THE NEWS ON THE RADIO
OR WATCH TV NEWS?

Television and radio are one of the most popular means of information in the world.

Though in my opinion it is better to watch TV news rather than listen to the radio because I
like to see what is happening. While watching TV broadcast I feel like a participant of all
events shown. When I hear about some terrible accidents I don’t have to visualize them in my
head thinking what it looked like, I just sit and watch. Besides, I see every action on the
screen just as if I were there in reality. I think that TV affects us positively and if we want to
be well informed about politics, economy, scientific discoveries, wars, plane crashes, etc. we
just switch on the news. Thanks to TV world becomes a small village because we can see the
news not only from Poland but also from different parts of the world.

35. DO YOU ENJOY EATING OUT? ARE THERE MANY RESTAURANTS IN
YOUR TOWN?

I enjoy eating out very much because for me it’s a form of entertainment. When I go

out with my friends or a girlfriend it is always something different than having a normal meal
and eating it in my room. Being in a restaurant is just like going to the caf

é to have a coup of

nice and warm coffee. It is very enjoyable although it costs more than back at home because
you have to pay for service. Here, in Płock I know many restaurants. I have big variety of
places worth visiting because all of them have something special and every one has a different
atmosphere. My favouite one is KILLER restaurant because the service is really kind and
helpful and menu is very delicious. I like the taste of their pizza and I enjoy the time which I
spend there with my friends.

36. WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO NEXT SUMMER?

Next summer I would like to spend in the Polish mountains with a group of my

friends. We will take our tents to live in and our own food because it is much cheaper that
way. I haven’t decided yet to which city we will go but I’m thinking about Krynica. At the
beginning I would like to see the city and drink some fresh water. Later we will walk and
admire the landscape. We will walk as far as we can and climb as high as it is possible. What
I like the most about being in the mountains is that every walking tourist greet each other
saying “hello”. There is always something interesting to do in the mountains, regardless the
time of the year. I think it is because the air is very clean and people fell relaxed and more
willing to be active. I think that there is something special about mountains that make
everybody who goes there fall in love with them and want to come back again as soon as
possible

37.HOW OFTEN DO YOU READ BOOKS? WHAT IS THE BEST BOOK YOU HAVE
EVER READ?

For me reading books is a very good way to spend a nice evening. I enjoy reading

books and I read them mostly at weekends, during holidays or breaks when I have some free
time. I always take a book with me when I travel by bus or by train to entertain myself. One
of the best books I have ever red is “a dirty job” written by Christopher Moor. It tells a story
about a man who one day became a devil. I like this book because the author tells a sad story
in humorous way and uses irony all the time. This piece of literature kept me in suspense right
to the end. I loved it and I have red it 3 times up to now. The thing that surprises me is the fact
that I always find something new about it. I love books. They help me to be creative because
reading and imaging things keeps my brain in good form.


38. DO YOU OFTEN GO TO THE CINEMA? WHAT KIND OF FILMS DO YOU
ENJOY?

I like watching films in the cinema very much. From time to time I go with my friends

to the cinema to watch new films on a big screen because it is nice way to spend the evening.
Horrors and comedies are my favourite types of movies. I like horrors because they are scary
and the ending is always surprising. This kind of film have a lot of action. Comedies are the

best way to spend some time with friends or family in nice atmosphere. When I have free time
there is no better entertainment than watching a comedy together with friends in the cinema. I
like American comedies because they are light, funny and they make people laugh.

39. HOW IMPORTANT IS THE COMPUTER TO YOU? WHAT DO YOU USE IT
FOR?

Computer, just like TV or radio can be used as a source of entertainment and

information. My computer plays an important role in my life because thanks to it I can
entertain myself by watching films, listening to music and playing games. With a help of this
technological device I can also get some information about everything. Thanks to the internet
I have access to daily news, music, films. I like spending my time on the internet. There are
even virtual libraries where I can read books, or virtual shops where I can buy things. Mostly I
use my computer to have a contact with my friends by e-mail or virtual chat rooms. I use
computer even when I study to collect data. E-mail helps me exchange information about
school and sometimes I even pas the notes to my friends. Generally speaking computer is very
helpful tool not only to have fun but also to study.

40. DO YOU EVER USE THE INTERNET TO GET INFORMATION? WHAT KIND
OF INFORMATION?

I always use the internet to get information about daily news. I like to be informed

about every day events. Thanks to the internet I can learn about current floods, wars,
scientific discoveries and gossip about famous people. When I want to go somewhere by bus
or train I can always check the hour of departure and the price of the ticket on the internet. I
use the internet also to exchange the information about school, to exchange some notes by e-
mail. I also collect some materials from the internet or use some programs which helps me
with my school duties. Also I use virtual dictionaries because they are more practical and I
spend less time on searching the right word.
