Opis wakacji

I spent my last holiday in the Tatra Mountains. I went there with my friends Ela and Andrzej. We got to Zakopane by car. We lived at a boarding house very near the centre of Zakopane, and spent nearly all of our time in the mountains hiking, getting up early in the morning and going hiking right after breakfast. We usually came back late - generally around 7PM, and then had dinner. The first day we were so tired that we did not get to go to the mountains but just went for a walk along Krupówki. On the second day (on Tuesday) we went to Kościelec, which is located at an altitude of 2155 m a.s.l., and then on Wednesday, we visited the Kościeliska Valley. On the fourth day we went on a trip to Tatralandia, which is an aqua park located in Slovakia. During our five-hour stay we rode the slides, swam in the pools and suntanned. On Friday we climbed Rysy. This is a mountain with its highest peak at 2503 m a.s.l. The route was quite long, tiring and a little dangerous but great satisfaction was our reward for the climb. The view was magnificent and that is why I took quite a few pictures. On Saturday morning, we left the mountains and came back home.

Wypadek na drodze

Last Friday I was going to the seaside with my friends. It was already dark and some of my friends, Agnes and Ryan, had already fallen asleep. I was talking with the one who was driving, Mark. I was drinking a can of Cola when he asked me to give him some. I gave him the can but unfortunately it suddenly dropped out of his hand and we skidded. Both of us shouted and others woke up with fear in their eyes. They didn't know what was happening and it was so dark that we were scared to stiff, the more so because we hit something. "Oh my God, we knocked someone over!" shouted Agnes. "What will we do now?! What will we do?!" I told her to calm down and said that it might have been the piece of a tree or a stone but she was shocked and didn't want to believe me. We got out of the car and was trying to seek for a person or an animal we had hit. After a while Mark noticed a pushchair in a distance of a few metres and we were convinced that we had killed a baby. While we were running up to it, Agnes fainted and Ryan had to stay to revive her. Mark and I approached the pushchair and... to our relief it was only a pushchair with a doll. It turned out that some girl had left it on the rode and had forgotten to take it back home. We knocked on the door of a nearby house and told what had happened. The girl's mother apologised to us for problems and suggested that we stayed overnight and set out on a journey in the morning. We agreed, rested, and continued our journey the next day.

Wizyta u koleżanki

A few months ago I had a free weekend and I decided to visit my friend Sylwia in her flat. I bought a train ticket to Poznań and packed. A day after I had my train. Surprisingly enough, the train wasn't delayed, though then there was a strong winter with huge blizzards, and delays were frequent.

The travel took 3 hours and wasn't really comfortable. The train was very old, devastated, and overcrowded, so I didn't enjoy it.

Finally I arrived in Poznań. Sylwia was waiting for me there. We went to her flat and ate something. After that we went to do some sightseeing in the Old Town. In the evening, she suggested to drink some beers and to go to the club.

We chose the „club 22″ and went there about 11PM. That night in that club a lottery took place, and I decided to participate in that. I didn't expect it, but I won the main prize - I could drink all night for free. I took the opportunity and ordered as much champagne as I was able to drink.

After several hours I was totally drunk, and I wanted to go back to Sylwia's place. I wasn't able to find her in the club so I decided to go there on my own. I went out of the club and tried to find the way back there. After a few streets, I looked around and I suddenly realized that I got lost.

Powrót z wycieczki

I think one of the worst moments of my life was when I nearly didn't make it to my final French oral exam at the university.

Two friends of mine and myself took advantage of the week between the end of the written exams and our oral to visit some our friends in Paris. Unfortunately there was a train strike in the whole UK the day we were due to travel home and we, being students, opted to travel by train.

Our journey by train and ferry back home went well, but we arrived in London only to find out that there were no trains back to Liverpool that night. Our initial plan was to spend the night at Euston station and catch the first train the next morning, but the taxi driver who took us to Euston refused to let three teenagers spend the night at a railway station. Instead, he took us to a makeshift hostel for stranded passangers in a gym somewhere in the middle of London, and so we stayed the night there.

The next morning we got up at 6 a.m., grabbed our things and went back to Euston to catch the train. We arrived in Manchester at 10.30 a.m. with just enough time to run home, take a shower and get to the university just in time for our orals at 12.00. I still can't belive we actually made it, and I hate to think what would have happened if we'd spent the night at the station.

Once I was in Spain during my summer holidays. It was a camp and I had a lot of friends there. The place was beautifiul, it was named Lloret De Mar. The weather was nice nearly every day. In the middle of my stay there was a trip to Barcelona organised. I had been always fascinated by the spanish culture. The night before I couldn't sleep and I felt something strange that could happen in the future. However that trip was too important for me and I didn't want to resign.

When we were on the spot I was totally shocked how amazing Barcelona was. After visiting the last place which was The Gaudi's Park we went to the underground station. Before departure I wanted to buy something to drink. I went to the nearest shop and I thought that my group was waiting for me. When I came back, I saw nobody from my camp. I was frightened becouse the map of the underground was too complicated for me. Finally, I chose a wrong way.

While I was going and crying, I suddenly noticed a golden Rolex watch on the ground. It was the most beautiful watch I had ever seen. I took it to the pocket but after a few minutes somebody shouted: 'Has anybody seen my Rolex?!' I looked around and I saw a young businessman. I wanted to be an honest person so I gave that expensive watch back to him. He let me phone my group. When they were found that buisnessman gave me a cheque for 10000$ as a gift. I couldn't believe that but it was true.

When I came back home, I told my family and friends about it. It was an unbelievable event. Money were very helpful. I could buy a new car and I am still in contact with that man...

I have never forgotten about it.

Winda

I had a strange situation last week. I work in New York in the Cosmopolitan. I was just coming back from the office to interview Arkadius, one of the most popular designer in UK. I was in a hurry so I took a lift although I was at the second floor. There was a young woman. Unfortunately someone took a lift from the tenth floor and at first we had to get there. Two people came in, a man who looked like an Italian model, and an old lady. I only had an hour to our appointment so I thought that nevertheless I would get there on time.

Suddenly we stopped at about the seventh floor and the light turned off. The man said it was a power cut. It was the glass elevator so we saw there was no light in the city. The old lady started to panic and said it was the end of the world, she was screaming and repeating the same sentence all the time. The young woman was also scared because she was nine months pregnant and she had just felt the kick of her baby. We thought she was going to give birth. Only the man was calm and told us everything would be OK and that it was probably temporarily. I wanted to believe him because I could not stand moaning of that bigot and I did not know what to do to take birth. Besides, I had to interview Arkadius because he was coming back to Warsaw that night. Fortunately the light turned on, an elevator started working and I managed to meet him on time.
