Purpose |
||
|
It is often possible and / or necessary to take persons, who are acting on behalf of Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG , for example carrying out repairs, and dependants on board. |
||
|
Due to the fact that only limited accommodation and live-saving equipment is available, and to the necessity to treat all staff equally, the following Documented Procedure should be used as a uniform guide to handling requests.

Application |

|
This Documented Procedure applies to the Shorebased Organisation and on all ships managed / operated by Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG.
|

Responsibilities |
||
|
The Master is responsible for receiving, appraising and passing on requests from crew members. Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG's Management is responsible for giving dependants permission to accompany crew members at sea. |
|
The Fleet Manager is responsible for arranging the necessary insurance coverage. He is also responsible for making similar arrangements when technicians or Company Partners travel on a Company ship.

Description of Routines |
5.1 |
Seagoing Dependants |
|
The crew member requesting permission to be accompanied by a seagoing dependent should lodge his request with Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG's Fleet Manager via the Master. The request should give the following data and have the following documents attached:

The Master appraises the crew member's request according to the following criteria:
He then acknowledges or declines permission and passes the request on to Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG. |

The request is then scrutinised by the Fleet Manager, which takes the final decision. Should permission be granted, Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG issues the seagoing dependent with a deviation insurance, the cost of which is borne by the respective crew member. |
|
Upon boarding the ship the seagoing dependent signs a Letter of Indemnity. If this is not signed, permission to travel on the Company ship is not granted. Seagoing dependants are always informed of the Master's authority.

5.2 |
Seagoing Technicians, etc. |
|
Seagoing travel planned for technicians is arranged by the Fleet Manager with the shipboard management. The superintendency receives confirmation from the technician's firm of employment that he possesses the necessary travel documents. A deviation insurance is also issued for such persons. |
|
Shipboard management and the port agents are given notice of a technician's arrival at the port of boarding, or they arrange for his/her transport on board. Upon boarding the ship, the technician is informed of the Master's authority.
