I'm a roadie for a top rock band. I won't tell you their name because they don't like us to talk about our work. Roadies are the people you see on stage before a concert getting the instruments and microphones ready but we do much more than that. On tour, we carry the musicians' bags to their rooms, get them food, iron their clothes, invite journalists to see them, throw journalists out if they don't want to see them... We do everything really. It's very tiring because there's so much to do. I think I only sleep for about four hours a day when we're on tour. But I feel important. The band simply couldn't go on tour without us at all. I wouldn't change places with anyone in the world. And of course, a lot of the time, the group is in the studio making albums. Then my work is much easier.

Shop assistant: Good morning, madam. Can I help you?
Customer: Yes, it's this shirt I bought last week.
SA: Oh yes. What's wrong with it?
C: Everything! I washed it very carefully in warm water. The machine was on 40 degrees centigrade like it says on the label and the colour came out. It was blue. Now look at it.
SA: Oh yes. I see. It's an interesting colour. Very nice.
C: It's not the colour I wanted. And it's got smaller. I'm a size 14 and this shirt should be 14 too. Now it doesn't even fit my daughter and she's a size 12.
SA: Would you like to change it?
C: No, I wouldn't. I want my money back.
SA: How much was it? Ten pounds?
C: Ten ? No, it wasn't. It was 19 pounds 99!
