Track 6
Carl: Hey, Nick! What happened to you on Saturday? You didn't come to the football match and we lost the game!
Nick: I'm really sorry, Carl. I got up really late on Saturday morning because I was so tired. I went to Eliza's birthday party on Friday night and I stayed late.
Carl: Oh? Was it good?
Nick: No, it was a bit boring.
Carl: Listen, Nick. The football match started at three o'clock in the afternoon. What did you do all morning?
Nick: Well, after breakfast I had to tidy my bedroom. And then I did my homework. And then I surfed the net and … I bought some new trainers online. They're cool.
Carl: OK. And?
Nick: And then it was lunch time! So I had some pizza with my mum and dad. And after lunch, I fell asleep. I was so tired.
Carl: You're winding me up!
Nick: No! Believe it or not, I fell asleep at half past one and I woke up at five o'clock in the afternoon!
Carl: You're crazy! And you're lazy!

Track 7
Daisy: Look, it's raining and I'm bored. Why don't we go to the cinema?
Emily: Good idea. I can find out what films are on now, on the Internet.
Daisy: Great. What do you want to see? I like romantic comedies.
Emily: What about this one … It's called Boy meets Girl. It's about a boy …
Daisy: who meets a girl.
Emily: Yeah but he's called Bob, he's a teenager who lives in New York and she's called Ida and she's a teenage alien! From Mars I think!
Daisy: That sounds a bit silly, and I don't like science fiction films.
Emily: OK, OK. How about this? It's called The Evil Prawn. It's a horror film about a giant prawn which comes alive and eats people!
Daisy: That sounds like a comedy to me! And I don't like prawns or horror films!
Emily: Come on, let's go, just for a laugh! I love horror films.
Daisy: No! Look, is that the new Shrek film? I love Shrek. It's great, it's got comedy, romance, action, everything! Let's go! …
Narrator: Daisy and Emily are now at the cinema, buying tickets.
Daisy: Hello, two for the new Shrek film, please.
Assistant: Adult or child?
Daisy: Er … two child tickets, please. We're fourteen.
Assistant: OK. Which performance?
Daisy: Emily, which performance? There's the 4.15 or the 6.15.
Emily: The 6.15 I think, we can go for a coffee first.
Daisy: Two tickets for the 6.15 performance, please. How much is that?
Assistant: That's £10.90, please.
Daisy: Here you are. Thanks. Now, let's go for that coffee …
