The cross species farm animal was delivered two weeks ago in County Kildare, Republic of Ireland. The birth, which was not planned, is thought to have happened after a goat got over amorous with a sheep at
a farm owned by Paddy Murphy, according to independent.ie. ‘He was born about midnight and I noticed it was black for
a start, but it was very fast to move. It was too fast for a lamb,’ he said. ‘It also has much longer legs than a lamb, it was then
I realised it must be a geep.’ Despite being shocked by the new arrival, Mr Murphy said the event was ‘a sign of good luck’. Although geeps are rare, they are not unheard of, with several cases being reported over the years.
