Research question: What are the physiological effects of the presence of only one of the vital macroelements - Nitrogen, Potassium or Phosphorus during the germination and growth of the Helianthus annuus?

Method

Apparatus:

• 4 flowerpots

• pack of Helianthus annuus seeds

• fertilizer with microelements

• Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus culture media

• garden soil

• sand

1. Make a mixture of garden soil and sand.

2. Put the soil into pots.

3. Put the same amount of seeds into each pot.

4. Water the seeds

1. the first pot - control set-up - receives fertilizer with both micro- and macroelements

2. the second pot - Nitrogen

3. the third pot - Potassium

4. the fourth pot - Phosphorus

5. Remove the smaller seedlings, leaving the biggest one in each pot

6. Water the seedlings in a way presented in point 4.

7. Record the growth.
