FALLS
Seventh Fali: Intermediate Side Roli, Come Up.
Starting position: Walking, start fali with left foot in lead, Photo #1.
Action: For practice, do in slow motion and work for good form rather than speed.
Step forward with left foot. Form wheel with arms, left elbow pointing forward, place both hands firmly on ground, Photo #2.
Lift right leg until you feel yourself losing balance forward, Mark your direction of motion as an ima-ginary linę running from your left shoulder through your right hip. As you roli forward (gently, do not thrust your body) duck your head in so that it does not touch mat at any time, and roli over your left arm and across your back, Photo #3.
As you roli, tuck in right leg and have right hand ready to slap mat. Complete roli by slapping mat hard with right hand and keep motion continuous, preparing to rise with aid of tuck-in right leg,
Photo #4.
Rise to standing position, facing opposite direction from which you began fali, take "T" stance.
(See p. 48)
Eighth Fali: Intermediate Side Roli, Leaping.
The motion of this fali is identical to the Seventh fali, but is begun with several steps and a leap. Instead of placing hands on mat, form fists with hands and use side of fists, continue roli and fi-nish standing. Photos #5 & 6.
Begin practice of this fali by leaping over smali object and progress to highest point you can achieve easily.
