CRANKSHAFT/TRANSMISSION

Turn the inner race of each bearing with your finger. The bear-ings should turn smoothly and quietly. Also check that the bearing outer race fits tightly in the crankcase.

Remove and discard the bearings it the races do not turn smoothly, quietly, or if they fit loosely in the crankcase (page 11-12).

CRANKCASE BEARING REPLACEMENT

LEFT CRANKCASE

Remove the left mainshaft bearing using the special tools.

TOOLS:

Bearing remover set

—    remover handle

—    bearing remover set

—    remover sliding weight

—    remover weight

Drive the countershaft bearing and oil seal out of the crankcase.

Install a new mainshaft bearing piąte with its projection facing up into the left crankcase.

NOTĘ

• Apply clean engine oil to new crankcase bearings before in-stallation.

Install new bearings with the following tools.

Left mainshaft bearing Driver

Attachment, 42 x 47 mm Left countershaft bearing Driver

Attachment, 52 x 55 mm Pilot, 25 mm
