Using Coats Chain Mercer Crochet No. 20, the tatting measures 6.5 cm (2Vz in) in diameter. This design has some compli-cated joins.
Start at A with a ring of 6ds, p, (4ds, p) twice, 6ds. Ali rings are worked alike; only their joins and orientation vary. After ring E, take the shuttle thread across the back of the work and join it to the junction of rings C and D. Leave a minimal space, and repeat from ring A, which is joined as shown. Each successive ring E is joined to the previous ring E using the method given in KNOW-HOW 14 (p. 70) for connecting a rosette.
Eight groups form a complete motif. To connect the eighth group to the first, join finał ring C to ring A at the beginning (also
using the rosette join). Finał ring E is joined to first ring E with a normal join, then to 7th ring E with a rosette join. Tie the first end to the junction of finał rings C and D.
