To join tatting with the shuttle thread
This is a fixed join which does not slide like a normal tatted join. It is commonly used when working a series of chains, where a normal join would cause the work to twist.
To make a shuttle-thread join, insert the hook into a picot, catch the shuttle thread and puli it out into a loop. Pass the shuttle through the loop and position and tighten the resultant knot. As this is a fixed knot, be careful that it does not tighten before it has been posi-tioned accurately.
