Figurę 12. Corwentional scheme for 4000 MTPD plant
Looking at the irwestment cost, the reformer cost goes up morę or less proportionally with the number of tubes, and sińce the reformer cost is a significant part of the overall plant cost, it is important to keep the reformer size smali, and thereby minimise the plant cost.
From an energy point of view, there is no doubt that this scheme is very energy efficient, and gives the lowest specific energy consumption figures of all currently studied schemes considered for large scalę plants.
Our investigations show that up to a capacity of approx. 4000 MTPD the “conventional” scheme is the preferred scheme.
