Description of Routines |
Schiffahrtskontor tom Wörden GmbH & Co. KG obtains a copy of the "Manual for Ship Safety Training", “Ship Safety Service” or “Schiffsicherungsdienst” (for German vessels) for each ship.
On board the ships the "Manual for Ship Safety Training", “Ship Safety Service” or “Schiffsicherungsdienst” (for German vessels) is supplemented by the operating instructions for all equipment and facilities present on board of the ship's safety service.
Only with the supplementing of the operating instructions does the manual become the recognised training or survival manual.
Each crew member is told, for example during their familiarisation on board, where the training manual is located. With the use of the training manual, each crew member is to be given sufficient opportunity to inform himself about the general and ship's specific safety facilities and procedures.
The training manual is also used as a source of information for the planning and execution of training and drills. In so doing the trainer has a solid foundation for the creation of their training material.
During training and drills in the ship's protection service, reference is continually made to the training manual to consolidate the crew's knowledge. If it makes sense, parts of the training manual can be copied for training purposes too.
The Designated Person ensures, in a suitable fashion, that the revision service for the training manuals is ensured.
