„Oskar and Mrs. Rose” is a book written by Éric- Emmanuel Schmitt in 2002. It is a short story about pain, friendship and love.
The main character, Oskar, is 7-years-old boy who has leukaemia and it is too late for bone marrow transplant. Doctor told him that he has only one week to death. Mrs. Rose is a volunteer in hospital. She made friends with Oskar and she gave him a piece of advice to take every day like it would be ten years of his life.
That book is a great story. The characters and situations are beautiful described. The plot is full of love and hope. It shows us how our life can be unfair and difficult. Dialogs are short but with message. Everything in this book has second meaning.
I recommend that book for everyone but especial for teenagers because it is well worth reading. They can learn a lot from Oskar about life and appreciate what is important in it.
