The roof is madÄ™ in iwo parts (see p 93) The base is a thick wedge madÄ™ up of 280g <9oz) of cream sugarpaste This is roited out thickty and madÄ™ to look layered by marking uneven imes around the edge with the back of a knife. You should atso mark angu'ar ndges on the top and then secure it in place as before with sugar glue. For the top part. ro'i out another 45g [Vkoz) of the pastÄ™ and cut out the shape using the template. Stick this in position.
With 22g ( 'oz) of the cream sugarpaste. model different-sized rocks to edge the pathway Using 30g (loz). model morÄ™ rocks and stick these mto a circle for the base of the chimney. then build it up. narrowing it at the top. Model another 7g ('Aoz) into an oblong for the chimney top and cut out a circle from the centre using the end of the piping tubÄ™ (tip)
For the doorsteps. roli out and cut a ihick 2 5 x 4cm (1 x 1 Ysn) oblong for the bottom step usmg I5g Cćoz) of the cream sugarpaste. Pinch this gently around the edge to soften t and make it siightly uneven. Make a smailer top step using 7g ('toz) of the pastę and stick this in place. Make the planters with the remammg cream. pushmg mto the top of each to hołlow out slightfy.
Colour 45g (1 Y.oz) of the modeiling pasie chestnut brown. For the tree. roli the pastę mto a sausage that tapers at one end. Usmg scissors. snip cuts around n that graduate m s»ze then suck it in place Colour 22g (5/<oz> of the modeilmg pastę green. Usmg three quarters. roli teardrop shapes for the tree and shorter ones to fili the plant pots. Use pieces of foam sponge to support the leaves.
