MAKING THE DINGHY
4 To make the dinghy. split 250g (8oz) of the yellow sugarpaste into six pieces arvd roli these mto oval shapes. Usmg sugar glue. stick them end to end to crcato an oval Roli out the remaming yellow sugarpaste and eover the oval completely, smoothing around the shape. Tuck the pastę inskle to create the sealing area and also tuck the excess underneath the oval. Mark a linę around the outside edge of the oval using a knłfe and mark Kitle pleats atong this edge using the tip. Carefully posilion the dinghy on the top of the cake. securing it in place with sugar gtue
5 Rdi a loog sausage for the fiagpole using 7g (V.oz) of the white modelimg pastÄ™. Bend it very sfcghtty and place it on a foam sheet untii it is dry.
MODELLING DAFFY DUCK
ÓCotour 50g (1 'Aoz) of the modelimg pastę Wack. Using 30g (loz) of it. model his teardrop-shaped Pody. pinching at the fuli end on one stde to rcund off his bottom. Press the point fiat and stick this into the dinghy so that it just comes ud the inside and stili leaves room for the fiagpole.

Make Daffy's head next usmg 7g (Y<oz) of the biack model ling pastÄ™*. Shape this mto an oval then narrow it slightly from the eye area up to the top of his head. Stick this in place resting on the side of the dinghy. Ieaving room for the neck Roli a pea-sized amount of the black pastÄ™ mto a sausage that is slightly thicker at one end and stick this in place to join the head to the body (the thicker end should be against Daffys head).
Colour 22g (%oz) of the modelimg pastÄ™ orange. To make Daffys beak. model the mculh area first Split 7g (7.oz) ol the pastÄ™ in half. Rcll one half mto a sausage shape and press this fiat. Stick it onto the bottom of Dalfy's face for his moulh 3rea. With the second half. shape his beak usmg the stop phctograph as a modelimg guide. Stick it onto h;s moulh and then smooth either side to remove the join. Stroke up the tip and press down either side of the beak Mark nostnls using the tip of a cocktail stick (toothpick) and dimpte the corners of the moulh using the end of a pamtbrusb.
