Foi com grandę prazer que recebi a sua ultima carta. Para ir direito ao assunto, vou contar-lhe a grandę noticia. Finalmente decidimos fazer a projetada (projectada) viagem a Lisboa, onde pretendemos ficar todo o mSs de julho.

NaturaJmente Maria estó encantada, muito ansiosa de visitar o pals dos seus avó$ e de conhecer vocft e sua am&vel espósa.² Estou certo de que ela e Helena se darSo bem ai, e que aproveitario tÓdas² as horas, visitando os pontos de interdsse² da cidade, e niło esąuecendo, naturalmente, as lojas, onde se dedicar&o k “arte” de fazer compras. Temos muitas coisas que comentar e espero que voc£ possa livrar-se de outros compromissos durante Ssses² dias.

Os negócios v5o bem por agora e espero que eon-tumem assim, de vento em pópa.² Na semana passada estive com o Alberto, e Sie perguntou por vocć.

Ficarei muito agradeddo se voc€ puder re$ervar-nos um quarto num hotel, pertinho do prćdio em que mora.

Escreva-me, contando o que tem acontecido ńltima-mente, e o que lhe parece esta notida.

Dcar Joseph,

I was very happy to get your last letter. Without further delay Tm going to spring the big news. We have finaliy decided to take the trip to Lisbon, where we expect to spend all of July.

Naturally, Mary is delighted, being most anxious to visit the country of her grandparents and to meet you and your charming wife. I am surę that she and Hden will get along fine and that they will put their time to good use, visiting points of interest in the city, not forgetting, of course, the shops, where they can prac-tice their shopping “art.” We have much to talk ahout and I hope you will be able to free yourself of other engagements during that period.

Business is good now and I hope we shall continue to have smooth sailing. I saw Al last week and he asked about you.

I*d appreciate it very much if you could reserve a room for us in a hotel near the building in which you are staying.
