Spccial Agent Denti had been partnercd with Fred Duncan, who had sccredy aided Professor. X on many occasions. Duncan often stored equipmcnt and weaponry that tlie X-Mln had confiscated front alien raccs and otlter super-

menaces.Aftcr Duncan was murdered by unknown parties, Denti vowcd rcvenge. He discovcrcd Duncan s connccdons to the X-Mcn and used the impounded weaponry to hunt down mutants who had not been convicted for tlteir crimcs. He crossed paths with the X-Men. and also assisted the Punishkk on occasion. After Denti gave up his hunt. he was briefly replaccd by a second X-Cutioner who was an alternatc reality vcrsion of Gambit, but later died in action.

The namc X-Factor has been used by a succcssion of mutant teams over the years. Originally, it was an alias adopted by the original X-Mcn, who decided to go undetcover as mutant hunters so as to be able to seeretly reernit and tram young mutants. Eventually. they abandoned Ais decepdon, but kept tlie name unril they rejoined the X~Men proper. After that, the X-Factor titłe was adopted by the team of governmcnt-sanctioned mutants led by Havok, who maintained it through several linc-up sliifts and changes of mission statement. Most recently, the name was appropriated by Jaimc Madrox, one of the former members of Havoks X-Factor, as the name of his Mutant Town

After rclcasing a nurnber of criminal inutants from jail, hc imprisoned the telepathic mutant, Mastcrmind and used her to control these mutants' acdvidcs. It wasn’t long before the organizadon began to collapse, a process accclcratcd by the shapechangcr Mystiqul who brought X-Corps to its knees, by frecing Masihrmind and stabbing Sean in the throat.
